Nigerian Delegates hold first post conference meeting

G25 ‘THINK TANK FOR YOUTH AND GOVERNANCE’

As  a follow-up event  to fast track the implementation of the AYG-Conference action plan, the Nigerian Delegates convened a first meeting in Abuja on the 16th and 17th of October, 2009 to draw up a formal working document . G25 ‘Think-Tank for Youth and Governance’ was formally adopted as the official name of the group. The group agreed on the following as vision and mission statements respectively:
Vision Statement
Virile and transparent Nigerian society


Mission Statement
Implementation of youth policies through effective youth participation, empowerment and mobilization

In line with the vision and mission statements, the group sought to achieve the following specific objectives:

• To ensure the implementation of the African Youth Charter and the National Youth Policy.
• To enhancing effective youth participation in governance.
• To chart a course for youth empowerment through mobilization and sensitisation.

The group officially announced the membership of the Executive Management Committee (EMC) that would oversee the implementation of all activities. To support the EMC for the achievement of statement objectives is an advisory board and sub committees.
